Just home from 2 weeks at Parrotel Lagoon Aqua. 1st things 1st. Was it the best hotel we've ever stayed in ? No. Was it the worst ? No. With a bit of TLC and loving care this hotel could be much improved. As in all AI hotels the food does sometimes become a little repetitive but we always found something to eat and enjoy. In our party were a 2 year old and a 4 year old and as people know they can be quite fussy but we had no issues finding them something they enjoyed. Our room was quite big with 2 small double beds. We also had a connecting room with a large king size double bed. The beds were made every day and after asking the cleaner, bedding was changed. I agree this maybe shouldn't have to be requested but it was what it was. Our cleaner (apologies as I can't remember his name) did some magnificent towel art especially on my wife's birthday. The animation team work hard and we noticed that they definitely improved their night entertainment with some proper guidance which all good teams need. A special shout out to Mohamed and Keryakoo who were fantastic and both work incredibly hard to entertain their guests. During the day we positioned ourselves near to the infants pool and the life guards were an absolute pleasure to be around. Yasser is an incredible person and fantastic with the kids whilst also being very vigilant. Nothing was ever an issue, they sorted our beds everyday. Another great life guard is Ahmed who again is an asset to the hotel. Whilst not a life guard Abdelzaher works tirelessly and was also great with the kids. The pool bar staff Eslam and Ibrahim were superb and ensured our cups were never empty for long, two great guys. Also a big shout out to Sherif who works the beach bar by day and the entertainment terrace by night. He was an absolute legend again another staff member who went out of his way to ensure we had a fantastic time. Keep up the good work you guys, any hotel would be enhanced by your work ethic and fantastic personalities.
I travelled with my mum and two small children 3.5&5 for 11 nights. Overall we have had a fantastic holiday. The rooms are HUGE, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Slept well every night and very good noise cancelling as couldn’t hear the outside much. Very good black out curtains.the aircon is amazing and not too loud. However, the rooms weren’t cleaned properly through the stay, it was basic, however the kids enjoyed the animals made from towels, and the cleaning staff were lovely. If there was an issue with the room the reception staff were great and resolved this. For example one of our showers didn’t work properly as was cold and they came up within 30 mins and sorted it. The pools were very good, we mainly used the heated pool by the spa. The lifeguards MOHMEAD, MOHMEAD, were AMAZING! Had sooo much fun with the kids and they couldn’t do enough for you. Had our beds ready for the day and moved things around if we needed. There was an incident in the main pool this was evacuated quickly annd pool shut to be cleaned. Couldn’t have done better with health annd safety. Every need was met we couldn’t speak of them highly enough. The waiters in particular AHMED and NADER were absolutely fantastic! We always had what we wanted never an empty cup. The restaurants… the main one is hectic, and very busy with rude guests pushing in not knowing their manners. However our waiter AHMED showed us the English restaurant which was much calmer. The food is basic and limited failing that, the reception would order McDonald’s. But there is always something to eat. The water park is great for the kids. No alcohol by that bar, however do soft drinks, it’s about 5/10 min walk from main pool. The toilets by the pool aren’t the cleanest and did have issues with toilet roll not being there, however there were kids just pulling these and wasting it. We did take our own on some occasions. The evening entertainment for the kids is good, simple dances but they loved it. Although this does start between 9/9.30 which is very late for smaller children. There is evening entertainment every night, sometimes it not the best, however it is available.
Overall it was really good experience heated pool lifeguards MOHMEAD AND MOHMEAD, and waiters AHMED AND NADER made our holiday and would make us want to come back with their kindness, service, entertainment and overall fun!
Just got home from a 2 week holiday from here. Food was hit and miss Rooms a bit dated, our room was cleaned every day, bottled water given, clean towels and towel art on beds. Our holiday was made special by MOHAMED In the English bar, ESLAM at the pool bar and IBRAHIM the life guard. They went above and beyond to ensure you have a fab holiday Always smiling and they work such long hours. But they can't do enough for you.
Love Egypt and it's an old base. The beds are comfortable and rooms large enough. The pools are good, but found it bizarre that the water park not all the flumes always open and only open for certain times (10-12.50 and 3-4.50). There appears to be limited sunbeds everywhere but always to managed to find one. The staff are really good, very friendly and smiley always, found the only person that seemed to hover and seemed to expect a tip was the cleaner, not a chance 2 week stay and I do not think the floor was cleaned even once and almost daily nowhere near enough towels. The entertainment is ok, but not much on and very repetitive. The place could be very very good, but just tired and needs a bit of an update and clean up (almost everywhere). We had 2 rooms, 1 was fine, the other so many faults that was reported several times and in the 2 weeks nothing repaired. Next time we visit will be to a different hotel, but all in all I good holiday and lots of lovely times had.
Did we enjoy our vacation...? Yes we did. Could the experience have been better...? Yes it could. The hotel is TIRED...with staff just 'going through the motions' Cleaning is a BIG problem at the hotel...for example..my patio/outside area was NOT cleaned once whilst there for 10 days...& wasn't cleaned prior to our arrival. Walking around the resort..you would see plastic cups and bottles on bushes or on paths that would never be cleaned... if customers can see it so can staff...but if its not their job, they don't seem to care. We constantly had to ask for new towels AND the correct number of towels...(4 of us, we constantly got 3 large towels and a hand towel) that was just laziness. The food was OK... a bit repetitive but you could always find something to eat.. the daily BBQ was a lifeline. Pool area was nice so was the watermark...but be aware, there is NO lazy river as advertised. There's a Daily 30 minute shuttle to the beach...be aware you'll need to fight to get on..as unlike Brits a queue means NOTHING in Egypt. & once we waited 1 hour 40 minutes at the beach for a return shuttle(30 minute service). Once at the beach there is a separate bar & snacks & seating area for Lagoon customers (bring your snorkel) I'm NOT sexist... but apart from 2 females in the animation team there are NO FEMALE STAFF... this hotel lacks a females touch...the men lack attention to detail..even with regard to dead flies all over the dining area...... Sorry....did I mention you'll be fighting flies at meal times... all they need to do is invest in a few Electric UV bug zappers....but flies are just allowed to settle wherever they want. It wasn't the best...but we made the most of it & tried to enjoy the holiday.. we booked a Cairo trip & a Safari trip ATV ..Camels & entertainment/BBQ As I mentioned before Did we enjoy our vacation...? Yes we did. Could the experience have been better...? Yes it could.
