Coral Sea Water World

Fantastic kids club. Lovely with the kids even when there are only a few. More kids attend in the morning session. Air conditioned.

Stayed here as a family of 4 for our summer holiday. We have mixed views about our stay with aspects of the hotel being excellent and others requiring attention. We will start with the positives. We had a great room with lots of space for two adults and two kids, the divider on the room was great giving everyone privacy when required, our room had a great balcony which also helped for morning coffee. Housekeeping staff were excellent and our room was cleaned daily with water and toiletries replaced. The pools were excellent, with all 4 of us loving time round the pool areas from water slides, lazy river and aqua fit to lounging around the pool. Pool area and garden areas are really nice and staff are always cleaning.

The negatives No drinks other than water were placed in the room, other 4 and 5 star resorts have a wider selection. The service was mixed, during the day at the pool drinks service was OK however in the evening during meal times waiter service was very slow, staff were more interested in clearing tables, we generally ate outside at the main restaurant and nipped across to the bar for drinks as the service was so slow, this resulted in plastic cups of wine with our dinner, the white was generally warm and the red chilled. Overall for us the service was disappointing during meals. Drinks the quality of the drinks were poor, local brands and sometimes lukewarm beer. Soft drinks bottles were left open at the bar between customers resulting in flat drinks, the evening bar outside had one member of staff serving and had already frequently poured beers, which were lukewarm warm and flat. Food was OK different themes on different nights and we always found something to eat. We also had to see the hotel doctor as one of our party injured their toe resting a dressing. The medical clinic from the hotel contacted us trying to get us to purchase a fit to fly certificate, for us this was a clear scam trying to money from us as this was medically not required. When we challenged them on this they immediately changed their mind, however voiced they were concerned airport staff saw the dressing on a toe and stopped us flying home. Entertainment at night was awful, cheap and as easy as possible, playing movies is an excuse for entertainment.

We did have a good holiday and through the day the kids were entertained with slides and the pool. As adults we like to be looked after at meal times and felt this fell short for us.

Did we have fun yes! Would we return no!

We had 2 weeks away and the family and we loved everything about it the hotel is amazing and clean all staff do a wonderful job, big shout to the animantion team especially Tia, Budda and Lilly for making the holiday that much better you are all so lovely and already looking at booking up next year again
