The Barceló Tiran Sharm***** is a luxury hotel located on the Nabq coast in the north of Sharm El Sheikh, with spectacular views across the Aqaba gulf and the main island of Tiran. The hotel occupies an area of 80,000 m2 and is situated opposite a beautiful private beach and the crystal-clear waters of the stunning coral reef.

Why only 3 ?
Without doubt, some of the friendliest and most hard-working staff we have ever come across, the gardens are immaculate, the rooms are good and wifi is excellent, the sea life is amazing once you get onto the reef. However why only 3? Unfortunately from day 2 of our 2 weeks stay we both came down with diarrhoea we drink very little alcohol so we discounted that , it was so bad that I had to go to the clinic and get some tablets for my wife. In addition, the rooms were quite warm even though the air conditioning was on and had been adjusted, and there were lots of mosquitoes. The room was fumigated by staff but unfortunately they kept returning and we were bit several times. to the hotel's credit we were offered an alternative room with three nights left to go but we thought it was a little bit too late to move rooms.

2nd Time to the Barcelo
Once again an excellent 2 week stay, and most likely will return next year. Requested a room in the same block and level as previous stay, and the front desk provided an excellent choice. Staff really make your stay relaxing from the pool staff to the restaurant.

Very good holiday. I stayed for 12 nights in room 1210. Huge room, perfect beach, I swam every day many times, good food. I will be back next September.

Hidden gem - tired in places but fantastic staff
We’ve just returned from a fab fortnight here. Don’t be fooled by the tired exterior, the staff are what make this place special.
Twenty minutes from Sharm airport, check in was friendly and quick and we were taken by golf buggy to our room. We had arrived after the main restaurant had shut, but after literally dumping our bags and heading to the foyer bar for a drink, when we returned to our room we were greeted by two plates of food (filled rolls, crisps and some fruit) which was lovely and welcome.
We booked a swim up room which was fab. You had a seating area, then your pool and stepping stones over to a garden area and your own private sunbeds and parasol AND a sea view!
The room was bright and spacious and clean with a sofa seating area which was a nice addition. Our room had iron and ironing board, kettle and cups etc - regularly topped up with 2 ltr x bottles a day of water and tea and coffee sachets. There was a fridge that also had water in it. TV. Beds were very comfortable. There’s a room safe at no extra charge. Bathroom had a large walk in shower, hairdryer and toiletries and somewhere to hang your damp swimwear. Again, room tired in places but didn’t affect our stay. Room was cleaned daily.
Nothing is too far from anywhere. Main building for restaurants, bars, spa, gym and shops (as well as Reception and guest services) is literally at the end of each block of rooms. Along the beachfront is the baracuda beach restaurant, beach bar, kids clubs and Bedouin tent and the main pool and pool bar is centrally located near the beach bar.
Can highly recommend the seafood meal on the beach (at extra cost of $25 each) fantastic food with entertainment throughout the evening and also the Egyptian night in the Bedouin tent (at extra cost of $20 each) such a fun night with traditional Egyptian food and dancing and sheesha (at extra cost). By the end of the evening we were all dancing and drawing quite a crowd from other guests and the staff were great fun. We had such a laugh.
You get a complimentary booking (which you book through guest relations) at the a la carte Italian restaurant- this too was excellent.
There are shops on site but if you need a pharmacy, there is one opposite the gated entrance to the resort (but it doesn’t open till 10) so if you are out and about early, there is another parade of shops and a very good pharmacy out the front gate turn left and walk about 5-10mins and you will see the shops across the road.
It is definitely the staff that make this place. They just want to make sure you have a good holiday.
The resort is predominantly visited by British, Italian, Arab and Russians and all staff have good command of languages.
The beach has access into the sea (avoiding the reef) near the beach bar and beyond but mornings tend to be a bit rough for swimming but generally calms down by 11 ish. Water sports like diving and windsurfing and banana boat and rib rides are available (at extra cost) near the Baracuda restaurant. The sports bar is open from 3pm and will accommodate most sporting events (the Egyptians love their football). They can offer you burgers or pizzas but it’s also nice that they give you nuts and crisps with your drinks.
Drinks are all local beers and spirits as any western drinks have a higher duty cost against them.
We enjoyed our time here so much that we have already booked to go back next year.

Stayed for 2 weeks in September, can't fault this hotel. All the staff were very attentive and made sure you had a good holiday.
Rooms were cleaned every day. and there were always staff cleaning around the hotel, to keep it clean.
Food, where top start, only downside to the food was the lack of a normal soup, i.e. Tomato, Vegetable or Chicken. Other than that it was amazing, been to Egypt a few times and never had such nice food. Didn't try the main restaurant at lunch times as the snack bar was too good. Breakfast was the normal you would expect, selection of meat and cheese, pancakes and the egg station for fried, scrambled and omelette. evening meals were very good and included things like sweet and sour chicken, curry, quail, fish pizza and a large selection of sweets. there was also a sports bar upstairs where and order food, some free and a few you had to pay a little extra for, but worth it, as well as your all-inclusive drinks too.
Would ew go again ? Definitely. this will be our go to hotel next time we are in Sharm.
