Stella Di Mare Beach Hotel and Spa

We honestly can’t say enough good things about this hotel. We’ve stayed in lots of hotels over the years, but this is the first where we’ve both said that we will definitely return. We have loved every minute from start to finish and are genuinely gutted to be leaving on Friday!

The staff ❤️

The staff have been exceptional. I’ve never stayed anywhere where every single member of staff is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always seem genuinely happy to help.

A special mention to Milad, David and Michael, who looked after us so well at mealtimes. They were fantastic

The pool 🏊‍♀️

The adults-only pool is fantastic. It’s a lovely big, spotless pool with a pool bar and waiter service, so you barely need to leave your sunbed!

The pool team are brilliant. They are constantly going around making sure everyone is comfortable, bringing fresh towels and pillows every day. They even come around and clean your sunglasses! 😎 They also offer you a lovely spray of cold water when it’s hot, which is such a thoughtful touch. 💦

There is also a children’s pool on another level, where the animation team run activities such as volleyball and other entertainment throughout the day.

The beach & snorkelling 🐠

The beach is beautiful and the hotel has access to two jetties for snorkelling. There are ladders for getting in and out, and one of the jetties also has steps, making access into the sea really easy.

The house reef is stunning. We saw so many beautiful fish and even a stingray 🐠

The food 🍽️

The food was absolutely beautiful. There are themed nights, so there is always plenty of variety and we never felt bored with the choices.

There are also two à la carte restaurants, with unlimited access included during our stay.

We particularly loved the Asian restaurant, La Scogliera. The food was exceptional and the setting overlooking the sea was incredibly romantic. We ate there twice and were looked after brilliantly by Milad, both the waiter and manager. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was outstanding.

Entertainment 🎶

We had read some mixed reviews about the entertainment before coming, but I think this really depends on what type of holiday you are looking for.

We’re both in our 40s and tend to make the most of our days rather than looking for a big party atmosphere at night. We watched the entertainment a couple of times and what we saw was good. There also seemed to be plenty going on during the day, including yoga, activities and even a foam party.

If you’re looking for a lively nightlife and lots of party vibes, you may have a different experience, but for us the entertainment was absolutely fine.

The hotel & rooms 🧼

The whole hotel is absolutely spotless. You constantly see staff cleaning and maintaining everything, and it really shows.

We paid for a room upgrade (panoramic view) which was worth every penny, and you get a perfect view of the sunrise! Also the comforts mattress I've ever slept on in an hotel! Our room was cleaned every day and the concierge service was a great added bonus. We used it once when we needed some medication from a pharmacy and it was delivered to us within around half an hour – incredibly helpful.

There is also a complimentary shuttle bus into Naama Bay, with three return runs each day, which is really convenient.

Any negatives?

Honestly… I’ve tried to think of something, but I genuinely can’t fault it!

This has been one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. From the incredible staff and beautiful food to the pool, beach, snorkelling and attention to detail, everything has been fantastic.

We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% recommend this hotel. We will definitely be back! ❤️🇪🇬

Location is out of town but not too far to walk, however, there is a free bus with 3 hour time slots. Lovely friendly atmosphere, created by the very friendly anttentive and helpful staff. Rooms were excellent. We went B&B but the value of the holiday was very good. Near to the jetty for the excellent snorkelling from the hotel. 3 pools to choose from. 4 man made beaches to choose from. 3 restaurants to choose from. Some decent evening entertainment. Maybe I’m getting old but the music from the lower pool was very loud and Ibiza rave type stuff for about 2 hours. We moved to a different place and then came back. Not my type of music however, it was very loud. That’s the only negative from us. Nicola and Henryk

This is a really great hotel. In so many ways five star but just a couple of reservations. We had a room in the main building on the top floor overlooking the main pool and the sea - it was great. Good size, clean comfortable, tea and coffee, fridge and it was made up for us perfectly each day. Comfortable beds (booked a double got two Queens) The pools and whole site - including the man made beaches - are kept beautifully clean and tidy . The pools are big and the swim up bar is a bonus. The beaches have great views over the sea. The BEST bit of the whole place for me was the snorkelling you can do from the two piers at each end of the hotel grounds - you can swim between them- it has its own reef ! It was just brilliant clear waters, colourful, healthy coral and a massive array of fish - including Lion Fish. We did a Red Sea day trip and apart from tuna didn’t see anything we could not see at the hotel. The food is also great. In the buffet there is a wide range of well presented well cooked food at each meal. Always something good to have. However - do not miss the speciality Asian restaurant . This is special. It has a beautiful setting by the sea and the food - particularly the chicken and coconut soup - is among the best we have had anywhere. A real delight and the staff - led by the brilliant Milad (what a star he is) - made it such a great experience. We went three times! All the staff are great - they really can not do enough for you. There is an efficient shuttle into Naama bay each evening. So why not five stars. Our main gripe here was that we often choose places BECAUSE they have a dress code. We like dressing for dinner. They say they have one when you book and they display signs with it on at all the eateries - but it is not enforced to ANY extent. Dressing for dinner and making an effort is kind of ruined when you share the space with guests in shorts and football shirts. However, if you try to leave the bar with a glass - to take up to your balcony for eg - they stop you and pour it into a paper cup. I get that by the pool but not from the bar on floor 7. If you can enforce that why not the dress code. We had two very good reasonably priced massages at the spa - do it - but it’s not quite 5 star ; no relaxing music for eg. If you see the golf course advertised —- do not choose this hotel for that reason!! Enough said. Overall this place is great and you will have a good time if you choose it.
