A perfect relaxing holiday
Yet another wonderful relaxing holiday at this excellent resort.
We had a spacious room overlooking Makadi Bay, which was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay, and there was always a delightful piece of towel origami on our bed when we returned to our room from the pool in the afternoon.
Breakfast and dinner were taken in the main restaurant, the food was always varied and delicious, catering for everyone's preferences.
The Reception Staff were very helpful in answering any queries and dealing with all our requests.
We spent most of the time by the pool which again was always spotlessly clean. The lunchtime meals were of a much higher standard than anyone could reasonably expect of a pool bar. Also for the slightly more athletic guests there is aqua aerobics every morning.
All this makes it a very good 5 star hotel but what makes it exceptional is the staff, which I give 6 stars. They are all friendly, professional and helpful, and want to ensure that you have a memorable holiday. It is not possible to mention all the staff that gave exceptionable service, however, I will give special mention to Reda and Mahmood in the restaurant, photo below.

A very relaxing Hotel
We had a fantastic relaxing two week stay at this resort and would highly recommend it. The hotel was spotless throughout, with everything kept exceptionally clean and well maintained. The food was excellent, offering plenty of delicious options at every meal. What really made the experience special was the staff. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with a smile, making us feel valued from the moment we arrived. The facilities were outstanding, especially the lovely swimming pool, which was clean, relaxing, and a great place to spend time during the day. Overall, this is a wonderful resort with amazing service, excellent food, beautiful facilities, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel and staff.
The hotel is in a great location with a lot of repeat guests including us,the food is excellent,but it is the staff that make this hotel so good,they are the heart of the hotel.We will be going back soon.

Paradise in the Desert – The Only Hotel I Already Miss
As someone who always chases new destinations and new hotels, I never repeat. Steigenberger Makadi is the first exception in my life — and after this stay, I already know I’m coming back.
With only 93 rooms, the atmosphere is intimate and sincere in a way large resorts simply can’t replicate. My sister and I even received a complimentary upgrade to a higher floor, just because we asked — a small gesture that set the tone for the whole stay.
The Location: Perched slightly elevated, it catches a natural breeze even on the hottest summer days — a small detail that makes a huge difference. Every hour, a shuttle takes you to the private beach in just 5 minutes, complete with its own restaurant and drink bar.
The Food: Simply phenomenal. The meat is incredibly tender, every dish beautifully seasoned, and the variety is endless — from the starters to the mains, the daily-changing BBQ, and the desserts (their knafeh is the best I’ve ever had, anywhere).
The Staff & Values: From check-in to check-out, this team is thoughtful, understanding, and genuinely caring in a way that’s rare to find. My sister and I felt safe and looked after from the very first moment — and yet there was always room for a joke or a laugh with the staff. It’s the perfect balance: professional, warm, and human. Special thanks to F&B team members Amr, Ahmed and Medi at the pool, and our housekeeper — your kindness made the stay. A huge shoutout to General Manager Mr. Refaat Hamed and the Executive Chef, who personally checked in on guests every day at the restaurant and pool to make sure everything was perfect.
The Evenings: Every night brought something new — live music with different singers (shoutout to Tarek & Helen, we danced all night to Egyptian classics), belly dancing, and a magician, Hassan, whose tricks left us speechless. For those wanting nightlife, the animation team even arranges a shuttle to the club.
The Overall Feeling: This is a place to truly rest, relax, and recharge — quiet and calming, yet full of warmth and life. Lush, green, immaculately kept — a true paradise in the middle of the desert.
If you dislike mass tourism and crave quality, sincerity, and a hotel that treats you like family rather than a room number — this is it.

Lovely relaxing week at a lovely hotel
We have just returned from a lovely relaxing week at this beautiful hotel,it is so clean and the staff are amazing,the food was one of the best we have had in a all inclusive hotel,the only thing that let it down was the drinks package,no branded drinks in the package and had to pay for the mini bar,would come back in a heartbeat if this was to change,apart from that we would recommend this hotel and hopefully be back next year,many thanks David and Deborah Vaughan
