Jaz Makadi Saraya Resort

The hotel is super clean & well maintained, the rooms are spacious with an amazing view, staff is very helpful & professional specially Mr Mohamed Nada , Mr Reda from front seat and Toka from the secondary restaurant, I loved the beach & the snacks bar was very convenient

This was our first time visiting Egypt and we had a really enjoyable stay at JAZ Makadi Saraya.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and very well looked after, and one of the biggest positives for us was the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, particularly the reception team, who were always happy to help.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and cleaned to a really high standard every day. We also used the hotel's laundry service during our stay and found this very good and convenient.

The food was good and there was always something we liked, although after a longer stay we did find it became a little repetitive.

The entertainment team were great – friendly, enthusiastic and worked hard to keep everyone entertained without being too pushy.

Another huge positive was the sunbed situation! There were absolutely no "sunbed wars". We could come down at a normal time and still find sunbeds, which made such a difference. There was no need to get up ridiculously early to reserve one.

The waterpark was excellent and the kids really enjoyed it. There was plenty for them to do and it was definitely one of the highlights of the holiday. The only thing we felt could be improved was the availability of drinks. As far as we could find, there was only one place to get a drink near the entrance. When you're further into the waterpark, it's quite a long walk back for a drink, particularly when it's around 37°C. Another drinks station further into the park would make a big difference.

Unfortunately, the spa was the one part of our stay that we didn't have a good experience with. My husband left his treatment after around 20 minutes, and as a result we cancelled the spa package we had purchased. We subsequently booked a spa outside the hotel through GetYourGuide instead.

We also ventured out of the resort a couple of times. We visited Senzo Mall and unfortunately had a bad experience with an Uber driver who tried to charge us considerably more than the app price. Because of that, when we visited Hurghada Marina we arranged a private transfer through the hotel instead. The service was excellent and we felt completely comfortable, although at €40 return it was definitely expensive compared with the roughly £3 Uber fare!

Overall, for our first visit to Egypt we had a lovely holiday and came away with a very positive impression. The cleanliness, spacious rooms, friendly staff, waterpark and relaxed pool experience were the highlights for us. With a little more variety in the food, easier access to drinks at the waterpark and a better spa experience, it would have been even better.

We would happily recommend JAZ Makadi Saraya, particularly to families looking for a clean, friendly and relaxing resort, and we would definitely consider returning to Egypt in the future.
