- Movenpick Resort El Quseir

The Mövenpick Resort El Quseir is seemingly part of the natural environment between sandy mountains and deepest blue seas. Built in traditional Nubian style, this relaxed resort instantly makes you feel at peace. A paradise for scuba diving, snorkeling or a perfect beach holiday. The hotel has 250 rooms and suites in clusters of low-rise bungalows. All rooms offer sea or garden view. 5 restaurants, 3 bars, and extensive sports activities cater to all requirements.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Culinary Experience
The culinary experience at the resort continues to be one of its strongest aspects. The buffet restaurant “Orangerie” still impresses with consistently high food quality and a wide variety of dishes. The freshness and overall preparation standards remained excellent throughout our stay.
A major improvement compared to last year is the newly renovated “Al Fresco” restaurant. The atmosphere there is beautiful and easily surpasses the other restaurants in terms of ambience. In particular, breakfast at Al Fresco became one of the highlights of our stay thanks to the relaxed setting and pleasant surroundings.
However, unlike during our previous visit, several members of our group unfortunately experienced stomach-related issues during this stay. While it is difficult to determine the exact source with certainty, we strongly suspect that the issue may have originated from food served at the Divers Club, where multiple people in our group noticed that some meat dishes tasted unusual. This was disappointing, especially considering the otherwise very positive culinary standards across the resort.
Accommodation & Room Comfort
During this stay, I was accommodated in a garden-view room located in the quieter rear section of the resort. Compared to last year, the room category was slightly more basic, which was expected due to the lower booking category. While the room still offered a comfortable stay overall, the furnishings and general standard felt somewhat less refined than during my previous visit.
The room was generally maintained adequately, though there is still room for improvement regarding detailed cleanliness. While this is not uncommon in larger hotel resorts, certain visible areas such as shelves, surfaces, and furniture could benefit from more thorough dusting and cleaning attention.
One particularly positive aspect was the bathroom toilet, which appeared to have been recently renovated or replaced and was exceptionally clean. In contrast, the shower area showed more visible signs of age and wear over the years.
A point that stood out less positively was the handling of drinking glasses during housekeeping service. At times, glasses appeared to have been only briefly wiped and returned rather than fully cleaned or replaced. On one occasion, visible residue remained inside a glass that had been left out intentionally for replacement. While likely unintentional, improving this aspect of housekeeping hygiene would further strengthen the overall room experience.
Customer Service & Assistance
The general level of service throughout the resort remained professional and courteous, consistent with our previous stay. Staff members were generally helpful, approachable, and willing to assist whenever needed.
One noticeable difference compared to last year, however, was the absence of the particularly proactive guest relations presence that had stood out during our previous visit. Last year, there seemed to be more visible and engaged customer service staff actively checking in with guests and ensuring everything was running smoothly. This personal touch felt less present during this stay, although the overall service standard itself remained good.
Beach & Outdoor Area
The beach and outdoor facilities remained well maintained and visually appealing, much like during our previous visit. The overall layout of the beach area continues to provide a relaxing atmosphere, and the availability of lounge chairs was once again very good.
One aspect worth mentioning for snorkeling enthusiasts, however, is the condition of the house reef. Compared to destinations such as Sharm El Sheikh, the reef here appears noticeably less vibrant, with fewer fish and less colorful coral overall. While still enjoyable for casual swimming and snorkeling, guests specifically looking for exceptional underwater scenery may find other Red Sea destinations more impressive in this regard.
Another recurring factor during both of our visits was the consistently strong wind conditions. Although the wind felt warmer this May compared to our previous stay in March, there were still periods when sea access was restricted for safety reasons. Naturally, weather conditions can vary depending on season and timing, but guests particularly focused on uninterrupted swimming or snorkeling may benefit from reviewing seasonal weather and wind patterns before booking.
Pool Area
The pool area has seen noticeable improvements since our previous visit. Renovation and maintenance work have clearly enhanced the overall appearance, making the facilities feel significantly more modern and inviting.
A particular highlight is the new infinity pool located in the rear section of the resort. With its direct sea view, it creates a very relaxing atmosphere and adds a premium touch to the outdoor experience. This upgrade has greatly improved the visual appeal of the pool area and positively contributed to the overall resort ambience.
Room Cleaning & Privacy
The housekeeping service once again maintained a good standard of cleanliness and reliability throughout our stay. Compared to last year, one particularly positive improvement was the more discreet handling of personal belongings and private items. This time, we did not notice situations where clothing or personal items were unnecessarily rearranged, which made the overall room experience feel more comfortable and respectful of guest privacy.
Aside from the previously mentioned concern regarding the handling of drinking glasses, the housekeeping service left a positive overall impression.
Top of the Rocks – The Perfect Spot for Sunset Views
Top of the Rocks remained one of the highlights of the resort and continued to be our preferred location to end the day after spending time at the beach. The combination of drinks, the relaxed atmosphere, and the stunning sunset views continues to make this spot truly special.
The overall experience remained consistently positive compared to our previous visit. If there is one aspect that could further enhance the ambience, it would still be the addition of more background music during the evening hours, as this could make the atmosphere feel even more vibrant and memorable.
Areas for Improvement
Despite the many positive aspects of the resort, there are still a few areas that could benefit from further attention.
One recurring issue remains the signature system used for the all-inclusive package. Guests are still required to sign receipts for nearly every order and meal, which can become unnecessarily repetitive and inconvenient over the course of a longer stay, especially for larger groups. A more streamlined digital or room-based system would significantly improve guest convenience.
Additionally, while the overall culinary standards across the resort remain very good, greater consistency in food handling and quality control at individual locations such as the Divers Club would be beneficial.
For guests particularly interested in snorkeling, it is also worth noting that the house reef may feel less impressive compared to other Red Sea destinations such as Sharm El Sheikh. Furthermore, recurring strong wind conditions can occasionally limit sea access depending on the season.
Lastly, Top of the Rocks continues to offer one of the resort’s best evening atmospheres, although a slightly stronger musical ambience could further enhance the experience.
Overall Conclusion
Overall, the resort once again provided a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday experience. Many of the strengths that stood out during our previous stay — particularly the quality of the food, the beautiful beach setting, and the friendly service culture — remain key highlights of the hotel.
At the same time, several aspects have noticeably improved since last year, especially the renovated pool area and the addition of the new infinity pool, as well as the enhanced ambience of the newly renovated Al Fresco restaurant.
While there are still some areas that could benefit from refinement — particularly the signature system for all-inclusive guests, certain housekeeping details, and occasional concerns regarding food consistency at specific locations — the overall experience remained highly positive.
For travelers seeking a relaxing Red Sea resort with very good dining quality, attractive outdoor facilities, and a calm atmosphere, the hotel continues to be a strong choice. With continued attention to the smaller details, the resort has the potential to elevate the guest experience even further.
It was an outstanding experience, hotel building, amenities, landscape, decoration, service. perfect location, low noise levels, rooms are cosy, clean rooms including iron, modern coffee machine, big TV. bars and restaurants have an amazing view. all staff arw smiling and saying good morning to you. enjoyed the all inclusive offer. the farm was amazing and i visited it twice (but it needs more marketing at the reception). suburb internet speed and coverage i enjoyed my stay. thx to the hotel management and HR teams
Nice hotel with clean rooms amazing coral reefs, professional staff, only thing bothered us is asking for signature every time we order something and asking if we are half or fullboard or all inclusive, although we were all inclusive but alot of drinks were out of all inclusive package with extra charge, very calm hotel with no night show ,the only time they told us there is nubian party in the garden asked for 2800 LE per person, other than this we enjoyed our stay
The resort is very well kept , everything is neat and clean. The beach is fantastic ; I believe the best in this area. Above all the stuff is extremely nice respectful helpful. I stayed at room 1806 , far from the main lobby and beach but next to the infinity pool and el fresco restaurant. Its location and view is amazing . The golf cars passing all the time makes nothing far, actually the golf car itself was part of the fun. The hotel main lobby would give you false impression as it’s very humble and small but other than that , everything spot in the hotel was chic elegant in a simple clean way. The views everywhere were breathtaking. The beach is magnificent, you don’t need to use the jetty, you can simply walk into the water and enjoy the corals and fish on your left and right sides. As if you are swimming in a fish tank with clean pure water. So good Downside for the beach ; you have to take lot of stairs ( around 2 floors height) but it’s made in a comfortable way. No toilets directly on the beach. The restaurant at the beach was so far that I only went there once and didn’t eat . The beach bar for lunch and snack must be close to the swimmers not at the end of the beach. The room is equipped with everything you could imagine, even a coffee machine with capsules and it tastes good. Everyone is asking you all the time if you are enjoying or not . So nice The place is so peaceful. Final downside was the food, it was so clean and of good quality but a bit heavy with no much varieties
But is I want to go to marsa alam, I would definitely go to movenpick again😍 Final tip; have your snorkel kit as the view under water was amazing
We stayed here in November with our family, including our two children and my parents. My father and I had an amazing time diving on the house reef. It is truly a beautiful dive site. The food was also absolutely delicious with lots of variations, and the bungalows were clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
We stayed in a family bungalow, which had an extra bedroom for the children, making it perfect for our family.
I would definitely give this hotel 5 stars and will certainly be coming back!
