Sultan Bey, arrive a holiday maker and leave with countless unforgettable friends
Our 2nd trip to Sultan Bey, El Gouna. Last year, this year and we will certainly book again. El Gouna is beautiful and has everything for the perfect holiday. We are not people that like the big all inclusive resorts where you are restricted within your holiday compound. El Gouna has so much to offer restaurants, excursions, bars, shopping, stunning marinas, golf and of course the breathtaking coral reefs for scuba diving or like me just swimming with goggles. Sultan Bey has been our hotel of choice and will continue to be. It is smaller than the other hotels, much more personal and boutique meaning staff quickly become friends which makes holidays so much more memorable. If you stumble across Sultan Bey El Gouna then don’t hesitate to book this glorious, beautiful little gem.

Good hotel
Very good people and very good stuff
A beautiful, tranquil gem
This was our fourth long-stay visit to this truly fabulous, caring boutique hotel. The location is first class overlooking a beautiful lagoon, only a few minutes' walk from Downtown with its shops, bars, restaurants and buzzing night-life. The hotel oozes charm with its authentic buildings and stunning courtyards festooned with bougainvillea. The rooms are always spotlessly clean, with incredibly comfortable beds and pillows. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine and the food never disappointed throughout the entire six weeks. Every single member of the Sultan Bey team is extremely friendly and will bend over backwards to ensure you have the perfect holiday. Especially the wonderful Andrew at reception. This also includes the Integrated Clinic team who run the onsite clinic, particularly Dr Kerolos and nurse Donia. We would really like to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for looking after us so incredibly well and we're really looking forward to seeing youagain next year. THANK YOU ALL! Sultan Bey – A hidden gem in El Gouna!
I'm quite picky when it comes to hotels and I've stayed at several resorts in Egypt over the years. But Sultan Bey genuinely exceeded our expectations!
First of all, El Gouna itself. Before arriving, I thought it was just another part of Hurghada, but what a difference! While Hurghada can be chaotic, with busy streets and pushy salespeople, El Gouna is incredibly clean, safe and relaxed. Everything is well maintained, security is present throughout the area, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Downtown is within walking distance, with plenty of lovely restaurants and bars to explore in the evening.
The hotel? Everything just feels right!
Before our holiday, I contacted the manager from the Netherlands to arrange something very special for my girlfriend. Naturally, I wondered whether everything would work out as planned. Well, they went above and beyond! Every detail was taken care of, with so much personal attention and genuine effort. Thanks to them, we created a memory we'll treasure forever. Absolutely amazing!
What makes Sultan Bey special is its peaceful, intimate atmosphere. No massive resort, overcrowded restaurants or feeling like you're part of a production line. Just a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your holiday.
There's a lovely swimming pool, and every half hour a boat takes you to the private beach on an island, where food and drinks are also available.
The staff deserve a solid 10/10! From housekeeping to management, everyone is incredibly friendly, helpful and genuinely caring. No forced smiles, just people who really want you to have an amazing stay. Many hotels could learn something from this team!
The food? Finally, really good! At other hotels around Hurghada, the food was often disappointing. Not here! Plenty of variety, different dishes every day and, most importantly, everything tastes great. Even mealtimes are peaceful, without the chaos of huge buffet restaurants.
Cleanliness is excellent. Public toilets are cleaned every hour and are spotless. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily, with fresh towels and everything beautifully maintained.
The rooms have a lovely traditional Egyptian style. The bathrooms are perhaps a little dated, but that didn't bother us at all. I'd rather have something slightly older and spotless than modern and poorly maintained!
Who would I recommend it to? Especially couples, young and old, looking for sunshine, great food and relaxation. There's also a lovely entertainment team, but nothing is forced on you. Join the activities or simply enjoy a drink in the sun. Your choice!
Families with young children looking for waterparks and slides might prefer a larger resort. But that smaller, more personal atmosphere is exactly what makes Sultan Bey so special.
Our verdict? An easy 10/10!
Sultan Bey doesn't impress with over-the-top luxury. It impresses with something far more valuable: atmosphere, quality, personal attention and genuine hospitality.
We had an unforgettable holiday and want to thank the entire team for making our stay so special.
If we visit Egypt again, we won't even bother looking elsewhere.
