Finally getting around to writing a full review although you should still definitely ask kirilos for one of his special cocktails!

Excellent week spent at the hotel, truly relaxing. The hotel itself is very well kept and our room was excellent.

What truly made the stay exceptional was the staff however. As soon as you arrived they could not do enough for you.

We arrived off a late flight but food was available upon our arrival after a very quick check in experience.

My partner has a dairy intolerance and we were immediately offered to meet the executive chef Sheriff the following day.

We were early for our appointment but Sheriff made himself available immediately. Genuinely couldn’t be more helpful. Had almond milk sent to our room for coffees etc and advised the pastry chef would create specific desserts each day for my partner.

This is a stark contrast to a lot of places where intolerances etc can be seen as a chore to deal with. Sheriff and his team seemed to take this as an opportunity to further showcase their ability and dedication to excellent service.

Mahmoud another chef each mealtime would take my partner around the restraint advising what was suitable for her to eat. His service genuinely made everything so easy and was lovely to speak to each day.

I must also give a massive shout out to chef Roshdy, who created desserts for my partner each day. Apart from my partners delight at what he was able to produce you could sense the pride he took in creating each dish. His concern was simply focused on my partners enjoyment and nothing was to much for him. An absolute credit to the hotel and displayed a level of service that was truly exceptional.

We don’t usually return to hotels preferring to experience varied destinations, however the experience was so good we may return again in September.

Our stay at Ancient Sands Golf Resort was nothing short of exceptional, and I honestly can't recommend it highly enough. As someone with a dairy intolerance, travelling can often be quite stressful, and I usually expect to compromise when it comes to food. Ancient Sands completely changed that experience for me. On our very first day, Executive Chef Sherif took the time to come and speak with me personally. He asked about everything I could and couldn't eat, and even offered me his WhatsApp number so I could message him each day with anything I fancied. I was far too polite to take him up on such a generous offer, but I was genuinely blown away that he would go to those lengths to make sure I was looked after. Chef Mahmoud was equally incredible. At every meal, he would happily walk me around the different food stations, explaining which dishes contained dairy and which were suitable for me. It meant I could make informed choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner without worrying, and that level of care made such a difference. Then there was Chef Roshdy, who absolutely spoiled me. Every day he prepared beautiful dairy-free desserts especially for me, something I've never experienced at any hotel before. On our final day he went one step further and prepared treats for me to take home, including a beautiful cake, delicious dairy-free pastries and traditional Egyptian delicacies. It was such an incredibly thoughtful gesture that I'll never forget. To Executive Chef Sherif, Chef Mahmoud and Chef Roshdy – thank you. The kindness, care and genuine pride you showed in your work made me feel valued rather than like someone with an inconvenience. It meant far more than you'll ever know. I'd also like to say a huge thank you to Magdy, Martina, Martha and the entire Reception and Experience Ambassador team. The WhatsApp service was one of the best guest communication systems I've experienced. Having a direct line to the team made everything so easy, whether it was asking a question, requesting room service or making simple changes to bookings during our stay. They also checked in with us daily to make sure everything was going well, which was such a thoughtful touch. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and knowing help was only a message away made the whole holiday feel effortless. The waiting staff were also wonderful throughout our stay. Every member of the team greeted us with a warm smile, were attentive, friendly and always happy to help. They created such a welcoming atmosphere every single day. Our accommodation was incredible. Rather than simply a hotel room, we had a spacious one-bedroom apartment complete with built-in appliances and two terraces on either side. It was peaceful, comfortable and perfectly located with access to five different swimming pools, so there was always somewhere to relax. The pool service at two of the pools deserves a special mention too. Kirolos and the team were fantastic, always checking in to see if we needed anything and serving drinks with genuine friendliness. The cocktail menu was excellent and being looked after while relaxing by the pool made our holiday feel even more special. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The gardens are immaculate, and it's obvious just how much hard work the gardening team puts into maintaining the grounds. Everywhere you look is clean, colourful and incredibly well cared for. As an animal lover, I also loved the resident cats. They reminded me of my own much-loved pets at home and were a lovely part of our walks around the resort. I was pleased to see they are clearly cared for, with their own feeding station, all neutered and well looked after by the staff. Guests can offer them a little chicken or fish if they wish, which was a lovely touch. Exploring outside the resort was just as easy. For around 73p, a tuk tuk takes you down to the private beach, where you can enjoy drink service, lunch snacks and another beautiful place to spend the day. The spa itself was lovely and the treatments were excellent. If I could offer one small piece of constructive feedback, it would be regarding the promotion of spa treatments around the resort. I completely appreciate that promoting the spa is part of the role, and I genuinely don't want this to reflect negatively on anyone personally. However, I did find it difficult to decline repeatedly after politely saying no. For me, holidays are about switching off and relaxing, so it would have made the experience even better if my initial response had simply been respected. I mention this only because everything else about the resort was so wonderfully relaxing. One final tip for fellow travellers rather than the hotel itself – if you're visiting during the warmer months, consider bringing a fragrance-free sun lotion. I discovered that scented lotions can attract tiny fruit flies, something I'll definitely remember for next time! Ancient Sands exceeded every expectation I had. It wasn't just the beautiful accommodation or facilities that made this holiday so memorable – it was the people. Every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome, cared for and appreciated from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The warmth, kindness and pride everyone takes in their work is something very special, and it shines through in every interaction. Thank you to everyone at Ancient Sands Golf Resort for giving us such a wonderful holiday. We leave with amazing memories, very full hearts and every intention of returning. If you're considering staying here, don't hesitate – you won't just leave with a tan, you'll leave feeling like you've been truly looked after.
