This March, Mercury Holidays & Sunspot Tours took 7 lucky travel agents out on tour to experience our Essence of north India Tour First Hand!
Josh from Agency Sales accompanied by Anne (East of England Travel), Janette (Global Travel Crowborough), Jill (Newells Travel), Katharine (Miles Morgan Travel), Lisa (Dawson & Sanderson), Jess (Hays Travel) and Lauren (Travel House), flew out to India courtesy of Jet Airways to embark on a once in a lifetime trip encompassing India's Golden Triangle, the elusive Tigers of Ranthambore and a secluded getaway in the foothills of the Aravali Ranges in Vanaashrya.
Here's what Josh thought:
What a glorious 10 nights in India, spent with truly wonderful people! Everything from start to finish ran so smoothly and I can speak for everyone when I say and guides, Mr Singh and Amit, as well as our driver & drivers mate are a huge credit to their profession! If all of our Escorted Tours around the globe measure up half as well, we are definitely on to a winner! I cannot thank all of the ladies enough for helping make this trip so great, we have created memories together which will last a lifetime.
Here's what some of the Ladies thought:

Before I left I had an idea in my mind about what to expect in India, people were scaremongering about the poverty and Delhi Belly! This was so wrong This Experience with Mercury was the best Fam trip I have ever been on!
Where to start as there is so much I enjoyed about this trip.
Mercury - The Tour Guide and manager (Mr Singh and Amit) were outstanding, everything ran smoothly and to time, Mr Singh was fantastic, answered all of our questions, he was really informative and told us some great historical facts and stories. He is extremely knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to have him on board.
A nice touch that they provided water, hand gel and our very own bank.
Highlights for me - (there are a lot of them) I liked the fact that the tour was so diverse, there is plenty of History, Culture and Wildlife. A lot of tours do not feature Ranthambore but I think this is a fabulous part of the Tour - It was just a shame for us that the Tigers were so Elusive.
Seeing the Taj Mahal for the First time was breath-taking and it is the story behind it that makes seeing it and being there even more special.
The Elephant Ride in Jaipur was another highlight again had never done that before so that was brilliant.
Rickshaws around Delhi visiting the family in Vanaashrya, the camel ride. - All Highlights for me.
The Value for money that clients are getting for this tour is unbelievable - all the meals, the admission into the attractions etc.
It is an experience I will never forget - and we have already sold an India tour since I have been back! I cannot recommend Mercury enough!
Lisa Romanis – Dawson & Sanderson Blyth (24908)
Flight with Jet Airways was great, (especially as I was lucky enough to be upgraded to business class on the outbound).
Choice of hotels all great in good locations, food lovely in hotels and local restaurants used. Tour was amazing and so well organised made especially memorable by the guides Mr Singh and Amit whose knowledge was incredible, they truly are a credit to their profession and to Mercury Holidays.
India is a fascinating country which exceeded my expectations by far. We visited many beautiful temples and historic sites but my personal highlights have to be the Taj Mahal and also the Ranthambore National Park (although disappointed we didn't get to see any tigers)
I hope to continue to recommend this amazing tour to many of my customers in the future

Mercury Holidays with their wonderful itinerary, informative and passionate guides, careful driver and comfortable accommodation, brought India alive for me. I couldn’t fault the organisation, all tickets were always available and tables at restaurants were pre-booked so no delays at lunchtimes. Enough stops for comfort breaks were built in to the day and water was freely given on board as well as hand sanitizer before you boarded the coach. Top marks to Mercury. Thank you.

Overall, my experience of visiting India was beyond amazing. I got to see exactly why they call it 'Incredible India' and it was everything I thought it would ever be. From seeing the Cows standing in the middle of the road, to standing right in front of the Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful things in the whole world, India really delivered. Everywhere you go the atmosphere is outstanding, everything is exciting, the traffic is very entertaining, the food is great and the people are so down to Earth and lovely. Every hotel was spotless, they really take pride in looking after you during your stay. I also got to learn about the interesting History of India which is something I will always remember. We visited ancient forts, local markets, amazing restaurants and we were even welcomed into a family home where they made the effort to make us Tea and fresh bread. Apart from the Taj Mahal, one of the best highlights was the ride to the Amber Fort in Jaipur, on an Elephant called Madonna! But to me, everything in India was a highlight and with the best group of agents you'll ever meet. Our guides Mr Singh & Amit went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience, including the 5am wake up call to go and spot the Bengal Tigers at Ranthambore National park. I urge anyone who has even thought about visiting India to do it because it's an experience of a lifetime.

My whole experience of the trip was one of excellence, I experienced things and saw things that I never ever thought I would. Mr. Singh & Amit were fantastic tour guides, knowledgeable, funny, tuneful and great to be around. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Mercury Holidays, Jet Airways, Jayasree Travel and Josh, for making this trip such a memorable one which is allowing me to tell our customers about and hopefully sometime soon I will get some of them to book on it. I will also be returning in the future as I enjoyed it and learnt so much, I want to do it again. Where to begin with picking some highlights, our Rickshaw ride through Old Delhi was an experience not to be missed especially going across several lanes of traffic (I say lane in the loose sense, they don’t drive like you would on the M6 they make up their own lanes as they go along) and into the narrow streets of Old Delhi which was so different than I have ever experienced before. A trip here wouldn’t have been complete if we hadn’t visited the Taj Mahal, this was so spiritual and beautiful, when you turn the corner and get your first glimpse of it as you come through the gateway is breath-taking and brought tears to my eyes!
