Take a journey through the glorious Swiss Alps and experience some of the world's most stunning mountainous scenery whilst enjoying the quaint alpine towns of Interlaken and Chur. Voyage on the Glacier Express, undoubtedly Switzerland's best-known train that traverses through awe-inspiring and wildly romantic valleys and past immense glaciers and deep gorges, all observed from panoramic windows to ensure views that will take your breath away.
Depart London on your scheduled flight to Zurich, you will be met on arrival by a local guide and transferred to your train to Interlaken West. Marvel at possibly your first impression of Switzerland's stunning alpine scenery as you pass through impressive lakes and mountains. On arrival in Interlaken, take the short walk to your hotel whilst admiring the magnificent views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau surrounding mountains before settling in for dinner.
After breakfast, the day is at leisure. Explore the beautiful Bernese Oberland in your own time, absorb the picturesque landscapes surrounded by countless mountain peaks which incorporate more than 800 lakes. Enjoy the breath-taking mountain scenery from the open coaches of the nostalgic cog railway en route to Schynige Platte mountain range or journey on the funicular to Harder Kulm, which offers a fantastic viewpoint looking down upon Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. Alternatively, enjoy an optional excursion to the 'Top of Europe' reached by the Jungfrau railway, Europe's highest railway. A visit to the Ice Palace is highly recommended where you can meander through a stunning system of halls and aisles built into the glacier.
This morning you will journey to Schilthorn, a summit which overlooks the valley of Lauterbrunnen and better known as the James Bond mountain. Travel to Birg by cable car, delight in the remarkable views and try the 'Thrill Walk' a 200m long steel structure that clings to the impressive vertical rock massif, passing underneath the observation deck. Continue on the cable car to Schilthorn, where you will have time at leisure, experience lunch in the impressive revolving restaurant, visit Bond World or stroll along the 007 Walk of Fame. Your descent takes you through the beautiful car-free mountain village of Murren. The evening is at leisure to enjoy your last night in Interlaken.
Following breakfast, it is time to journey to Chur on board the renowned Glacier Express. The world's slowest express train will take you through the breathtaking scenery of the alps and sleepy meadows, with unobstructed views from your panoramic window. Enjoy lunch on board overlooking the glorious mountain ranges, a truly fabulous end to your journey before disembarking at Chur to check in to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
On today's half day excursion, you'll visit picturesque Arosa, spending time at the traditional Grisons Holiday Resort in the romantic surroundings of Schanfigg Valley. We recommend you visit the Giger Bar, designed and opened by the world-renowned H.R Giger, the creator of Alien, it is a truly impressive and unique establishment. On your return to Chur, the rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore Switzerland's oldest city at your own pace.
Following breakfast, you will be transported to Zurich airport for your flight home to the UK.

If booking more than 10 weeks before departure a deposit of £250pp will need to be paid at the time of booking with the full amount payable at 10 weeks prior to departure. The deposit applies to adults and children. If you are within 10 weeks of travel then the full balance of the holiday will be payable.
Your flight is to Zurich with British Airways (BA), departing from London Heathrow, Terminal 5. Flights schedules are subject to change, further information regarding your flights will be provided 10 days before your departure. Each passenger is entitled to 23KG of hold luggage plus 1 item of hand luggage not exceeding in size and 1 personal item such as a handbag, briefcase or laptop case. Weight restrictions will be finalised on E-ticket receipt. Should you wish to take additional luggage you will need to pay extra at check-in. This tour is accessible to most people with an average level of fitness and normal mobility. It involves moderate days of walking on uneven paths and small hills and getting on and off coaches and boats. This tour is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
The minimum number of passengers on your tour will be 20, and the maximum number of passengers will be 35. If in the unlikely event your tour does not reach the minimum passenger numbers, then you may be asked to change to a different date. A full refund will be made available to you should this alternative not be suitable.

The currency in Switzerland is the Swiss Franc (CHF). We recommend that you exchange your currency before you leave the UK, however cash machines are available in all the major cities to withdraw money in the local currency.
You will need to take some extra money with you to cover any meals not mentioned on your itinerary and personal purchases, such as souvenirs, drinks and snacks. Approximately £200-£300 per person should be sufficient for the duration of your tour. Please also bear in mind that there will be several shopping opportunities throughout your tour. Tipping is completely at your discretion. Tips are accepted in the local currency, however, it is asked that if you do not tip in the local currency that you only pay with notes, as coins cannot be exchanged.
