Mainly all positive, but I have added a couple of negatives at the end - not worth docking any stars for though!
Absolutely amazing hotel and service! So glad we picked this for our holiday.
We booked a Cave Infinity suite and before we arrived requested one on the higher levels as we did not really want to be overlooked. This request was accommodated (room 5) and our suite was very private from other rooms. The road of course was above so people walking or driving past could see in but that was to be expected.
The room was far bigger than expected and we were both very impressed. Especially that we also had a seating area outside where we could eat.
Infinity pool was unheated as expected but we still went it in one day after lying in the sun a while. It was much bigger than expected too, with a proper deep end and space to actually "swim" a few strokes from one side to the other - much better than the plunge pool we were expecting.
Stunning view from the hotel.
The food and service were both outstanding. As we were only a minute's walk from reception, we did not bother paying the 20 euro fee for breakfast in the room. It was outstanding - I personally love dining out for breakfast/brunch in London and this would be one of my favourite restaurants if it were in London! You ordered a la carte whatever you wanted and it was great. You could even order a glass of prosecco with your breakfast but these were only 1/3 to 1/2 full.
We had dinner at the restaurant one night and it was outstanding. Just really good high quality food like you would get at any fancy restaurant in London. Admittedly it was similar to London prices (!) but at least the quality was there.
We walked to/from Akrotiri a few times and it was easy enough but you do have to keep a mobile phone light on at night so drivers can see you as there is no pavement.
We also got the bus from outside the hotel to Fira a couple of times. Times weren't consistent though.
Hotel organised whatever transfers we wanted, and the Whatsapp concierge eservice was excellent here. Big black minivan was always there to pick us up. Expensive but only as expensive as taxis or other transfer companies. If you can rent a car and drive, this is probably preferable.
Negatives: only a few. The water went hot and then cold in the shower. We did not bother reporting it as we didnt think it would be easily resolved. Also on our final day there was only one "glass" (aka half a glass!) of prosecco left at breakfast so only 1 of us got it.
We spent three days here after leaving Athens. If you are looking for isolation and peace, this is the place for you. The staff is wonderful and will go out of their way to accommodate your needs. A nice place for couples, however just a few minor setbacks. The private pools are freezing and as cool as it is to have one, it’s too cold. The WI-FI is not very strong so if you need anything, I suggest you download what you need before arriving. You will need to taxi to just about anywhere (you can try to walk but buyer beware as the roads are very narrow). We enjoyed the beach at Perissa as there are many shops/restaurants there and you can get plenty of walking in. Again, this is a beautiful place for couples looking for quiet and tranquility.
Staying at Grand Ambassador Suites was unforgettable. The atmosphere is incredibly tranquil, with quiet spaces, beautiful views, and a sense of calm that makes every moment feel special.
The service was exceptional throughout, and I want to give a heartfelt mention to Pepi at reception, who went above and beyond to help me organise my proposal to my partner. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made an important moment even more meaningful.
The food was delicious, full of fresh flavours, and the cocktails were crafted with real care — perfect for enjoying by the pool or during sunset. Everything across the property was spotlessly clean, from the suites to the shared areas, making the stay feel consistently comfortable and refined.
A truly memorable Santorini experience for our special moment ❤️
Amazing resort for our wedding party. The service was incredible from the restaurant, cleaning staff and front desk. This was more than a dream for a wedding weekend and would recommend this place as a must stay in Santorini!
Staff and restaurant were amazing. Friendly and very helpful. The views from the room with private pool are top notch. Getting around the hotel is not an easy task. Rooms are below street level with stairs to your room going down which are steep. They offer pick up and room service but it’s a bit for waiting time as they only have 2 carts for staff. If you have a wedding party all leaving at once some ladies better be prepared to walk steep stairs in heels.
