Clean tidy but a bit remote from the centre

Lovely and friendly apartments everyone here is so helpful and nothing is too much. We stayed as bed and breakfast and it was ok but the food wasn’t always very warm. Plenty of selection. If you want tomato sauce you’ll have to ask every day for it. But they’re more than happy to get some for you. Location wise it’s around a 20 minute walk into Hersonnosis and not as advertised on the Jet2 booking app. If it was nearer to the centre I would definitely book here again. On the last day our room was already booked and we had a very late flight again down to Jet 2 changing flight times, the staff were helpful and put us in another room which was actually much nicer than the one we’d stayed in all week. Lovely friendly apartments, cleaned but towels not changed enough for my liking. When you’ve been sunbathing all day I like a fresh towel every day not every three.

Amazing Summer Holiday

We had such a lovely stay at this wonderful family-oriented hotel! ❤️ The room was very spacious, and we especially loved having a balcony with a beautiful view. The hotel is also just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, which was perfect.

The food deserves a special mention — absolutely chef’s kiss! 👌🤌 Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with plenty of great choices.

The Wi-Fi signal was excellent, which was a big plus! 📶 And if you’re a cat lover, you’ll absolutely love this place — it’s a little cat haven! 🐱❤️ There are lovely cats around the hotel, which made our stay even more special.

All the staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, which made us feel right at home. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again. Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A little out the way from anywhere Atmosphere no entertainment so make your own Room was great clean and air conditioning was great Value is over priced We met people there who's room was like but ours was fine Noise level is great and you can sleep Service this is were i would say DONT GO Food was disgusting chicken bones chopped up in food and rabbit the breakfast was not English it was very strange scrambled eggs with anything they can find put in it bacon is something I don't know what? And then you have cheese and salty cheese at that with some kind of meats and bread ,watermelon lots of watermelon hope you like it has it is a constant. We spent £2000 euros that week and a majority was on food eating elsewhere even tho we paid for half board. Would not go again not worth the money.

Stay clear of this hotel

Check in was haphazard - no rules just told to take a picture of the dining times as we were (unfortunately) booked as 1/2 board. There was no mention of not putting toilet paper down the toilets / no signs etc. (we of course had stopped in Greece before so were aware)

We started our holiday in room C6. Was classed as a standard room but my argument is it still should be fit for purpose. This room was not.

Hairdryer burns out within seconds of turning on, glows brightly and cuts out - this is dangerous if you have long hair and your hair touches the dryer.

On our first day, the cleaner left the room unlocked. This did not instill confidence. They also took the towels and didn’t replace (Which I had to tell them about as I didn’t want them thinking I had taken them.). Also didn’t replace toilet paper. We had to go and ask for it. They blamed new staff for this.

Room C6 is in a lower level (below ground level) so you had steps to go downstairs with an apartment upstairs with (beautiful I may add) floral over the top so our room was in constant darkness. The light to show you the stairs down to our room was not working so if you came back at night you are risking life and limb because you cannot see the steps, nor outer area or door lock as it’s pitch black. There is no natural light. There is one constant light (which was the one that didn’t work) and a separate one that only worked when key fob was in after you have entered your room.

The room was very VERY tired, also a constantly bad smell in the area.

Electrics - Kettle point dodgy (see photo)

Bathroom The toilet seat wasn’t the proper seat, so was fixed on, on a slant.

Shampoo bottle which was advertised as provided was filled with water. Whilst that was probably the previous occupant (saddo) it wasn’t checked.

We were moved to B5 - so when we left room C6 we stripped the beds to help the cleaner and found lots of evidence of bed bugs which will explain the red bites on both of us. (Photos)

We had items taken from the outside washing line (probably because it’s dark and unlit) - when I approached reception they were not bothered in hindsight I shouldn’t have left stuff out to dry overnight.

The room was very sad and old and desperate for a makeover

The change of room was welcomed and we were told it was their superior room. I would still consider that the room was basic. The air conditioning was not great and the shower head just full off green rust. In small amounts it's not considered toxic, but you don't really want to be showering under a head that's flaking oxidized metal and clogged with scale. It can also block the jets and harbor bacteria.

Location I can’t complain at the location we knew it was a walk away from town. It’s a 10’minute walk to beach and town maybe 25 mins. However do not attempt after daylight especially if you have children as there are no paths / lighting.

Swimming Pool Mouldy tiles, only went in once in two weeks I felt dirty getting out :( it was definitely cleaner in the ocean.

The onsite bar by the pool advertised and photographed is closed.

They have outsourced a second bar/kitchen which is now a restaurant. It is not connected to the restaurant and it serves food.

Food at the hotel - where do I start?!

Nothing short of appalling. The food is disgusting and inedible.

People are rarely asked for their room number.

Breakfast - scrambled eggs is just dried out reconstituted egg substitute. Most hotels use this but how they prepare it is disgraceful as it is so dry. They also mix in last nights left over ‘food’ sometimes ham or tomato or mix of both with green stuff etc. again no labels/food info. Scrambled egg is usually a vegetarian’s go to - so please be warned.

Sausages - just cut up hot dog sausages.

Fries Eggs - I cannot figure out how they cook them. They are so rubbery they could reshell a turtle.

Baked beans - this was the only thing we could eat (with toast). I asked the server if they could have them daily and they said no they rarely have them. I complained to JET2 and it was agreed to have them available every day which during my stay they did.

There is a selection of cheeses and cold meats. Again - no labels to say what the meats were.

Bacon (if that’s what it was) was inedible.

I know we are in a foreign country but the food was disgraceful, inedible and you were running a gauntlet of what you were having.

The photos on this site are very misleading and nothing like what was on offer.

Evening food

Drinks for evening meal is only water.

Many bowls of different mixed ingredients but not labelled

For main courses - One night was rabbit (was told what it was by someone else) - what they didn’t say it wasn’t boned and broken down into a mush - so it was a boney circle meat hash.

Once a week - Fish fingers - mush (inedible)

Once a week - Chicken nuggets - clearly just pink skin (I wouldn’t feed a stray cat with them)

Other food stuffs was just as bad.

I asked staff what certain things were (as they were not labelled) and they had no idea!

Lack of info is dangerous if you have food intolerances

One night the different options was so bad that we nipped to the spar supermarket next door and bought cheese and biscuits. I nipped to the restaurant and asked if I could have two small sachets of butter (the small 5mg ones) barring in mind we were staying 1/2 board and hadn’t availed ourselves to their ‘delights’ and was told no - butter is only available in the morning. So if you have bread on an evening - you can’t have butter. I went to reception and they did give me two little butters.

The advertised bar and alacarte restaurant is not accurate. The bar and restaurant is a different business and not associated with the hotel. Dining area for the hotel is downstairs from reception.

We regularly stay in places around Greece, (and cheaper) and this is by far the worst food and accommodation . I am so surprised that JET2 use this place.
