Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This place is filthy , had to change rooms after first night room was filthy , sewage was blocking up outside our door seeping up through our path , dogs barking and cock crowing non stop all day and night , this place totally ruined our holiday ,
We stopped in Govina Bay for a week. The room was second to none and the cleaners did a fantastic job each day. The security is very on point which is also brilliant. The pool bar staff was not as friendly as you'd expect and ordering a drink or food you felt like you was more of a burden than a customer. A smile also goes a long way! Overall 3/5 and lovely garden area too.
Just returned from our 3rd visit to Govino Bay we had a wonderful week, this place is so beautiful, our apartment was over looking the Lake which was stunning, Pool area lovely with plenty of sunbeds, Reception staff kind & friendly, Pool bar staff great & the cleaners work so hard.
It is so close to amazing Restaurants & Bars so much to choose from, we will be back soon! Thank you
Just had a week at Govino Bay -4/5. It’s cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for
Me and two primary aged children.
Pros
Great pool
Always sun loungers
Decent space in room
Reception staff brilliant - although had a panic when arriving late at night and it was deserted!
Nice Bay / Beach area which offers an alternative to pool.
Nice green landscape
Provided a relaxed vibe for the week
Close to local shops / restaurants-10 min walk.
Clean and cleaners were great. Room cleaned every day
Bus stood right outside ( tip- find a place where you can buy tickets as more expensive with driver )
Cons Dated rooms but hey it was cheap Pool bar staff very rude. Give us a smile guys . Poor bar food quite poor - that and the combined comment made me avoid buying anything from them. Kinda silly really , they had a captive market !! No really evening vibe there. It could be that it’s because it was apartments not a hotel or more likely because the pool bar area / people didn’t give the feeling that you wanted to drink/ eat there in the evening. Their loss, local businesses win ! Terrace faces opposite direction to the sea/ bay. Seemed as if they had been built back to front. Likely to be due to the evening sun coming at the ‘back ‘ of the house but always felt a little deflated when looking out of a window that couldn’t open to the sea/bay and wishing to be outside on terrace. That said, they do seem to have a few rooms that face the water ..
Good all round cheap and cheerful place although I’m starting to wonder if these types of holidays hold the same value as they used to - after all , it’s quite hot now in the UK !!
We've just returned from 2 weeks at Helion Govino Bay and cannot fault our visit. Room 38 was ideal for location, just far enough from the noise around the pool. We had a 1 bed apartnent with AC in the bedroom and main lounge dining room, shaded but open outside grou d floor terrace. Always felt cooler as we were not in afternoon direct sun. The ladies in reception could not ve more helpful and welcoming, we had a Taxi transfer issue which tgey very kindly and swiftly sorted for us. The team at Oasis pool bar all work hard and cannot do enough to loom after you, well done to you all. Chilling out in our terrace we watched all ground staff working hard to keep the grounds, rooms and overall experience enjoyable. Highly recommend to all, Late July/ early August is busy with younger groups I will say howver. The pool is very busy! Luckily there is a nice section of grounds by the waterside for those who fancy shade under Olive trees and a dip in the bay. Well done to all at Helion Gouvia Bay Many thanks from Andy & Yvonne ftom Brighton UK 👍😁
